Texas-based web developer job search firm WebJob.com says that the biggest employers are hiring developers with deep pockets, so they’re choosing to hire web developers who are highly experienced, knowledgeable and highly motivated.
“Most of the hiring companies are looking for web developers with a good understanding of what they are looking to accomplish,” said WebJob’s senior vice president of digital for the Americas, Brian T. Kollin.
“We want to hire a diverse group of people who are willing to put in the time and work to get the job done.”
He said hiring web developers has become a big business in recent years, so it’s no surprise that there are now thousands of jobs available.
And those jobs pay well.
A developer making $75,000 a year or more can expect to make $2,000 more than someone making $30,000, according to WebJob and others.
“The salaries are extremely good,” said T. Michael McAlister, CEO of Texas- based software development firm K-Lab.
He said that the pay is often competitive and that the companies offer a flexible work schedule that allows developers to focus on their work.
But if you’re looking for a more stable salary, he said, you may want to consider other job opportunities.
“There are a lot of great job postings out there that are paid better than they are paid now,” McAlisters said.
“It’s really important to keep an open mind and look at a wide range of opportunities.
You can do your own research.”
